She likened authors to magpies, in the way they gather ideas and hoard them. She has a PhD in creative writing from the University of Melbourne and manages a website for teenagers that actively involves them in the beauty of literature. Since then she has written many novels, including Pink and After the Lights go out. When she was 12 years old Lili had her work published in Voiceworks Magazine. Lili published her first book, Scatterheart when she was 24 years old, but her writing career started much earlier than this. Throughout the two hour workshop, Lili shared her journey as a writer and provided advice on how to bring our writing to the next level. Last week, the Year 11 Literature class and Writers Club were lucky enough to work with charismatic, award winning author, Lili Wilkinson.
